♥ Hearts ♥ Arriving Feb. 1st!

Photobucket

I'm getting in the mood to make heart earrings again! Remember these? (above)

This design was published in Jewelry Stringing and was actually my first

design published with them!

Published design in Jewelry Stringing.

I plan on doing these but with other a different crystal color.

I'm thinking of doing a variety of earrings
with crystal colors ranging from pinks
to a deeper Marsala color.

Stay tuned!

PS...I am also thinking about making some limited edition kits
w/ basic instructions for your own jewelry making!

***These kits would be for your personal use and not for resale.***

♥ Happy Valentine's Day! ♥

Hope you are having a Happy Valentine's Day!

PS...Today's the last day of my sale on all ♥heart♥ themed earrings.

Incase you are wondering about the heart in the pancake...my sister in law was making pancakes one morning and I snapped this pic. The pancake happened to have a perfect heart shape...I believe someone special was looking over us that morning and wanted to send her love!

The last of the May Flowers

"May Flowers"

Pink & brown crocheted flowers,
Pastel pink(s) crystals,
patinated {by me} pink bead spacers,
Vintaj (brand) kidney ear wires
OOAK! {one of a kind}

I sing of brooks, of blossoms, birds, and bowers:
Of April, May, of June, and July flowers.
I sing of Maypoles, Hock-carts, wassails, wakes,
Of bridegrooms, brides, and of their bridal cakes.

Hesperides (1648)

Cup of Bead Soup Reveal! {Bead Happily Ever After}

'Red Hot' earrings

I made two sets of earring & necklace combos with my cup of bead soup stash. At this time, that's an accomplishment in itself! Just not enough hours in the day recently. {When I get more stuff created using the remainder of these beads I'll be sure to post!---Also, sorry about the pics not being the greatest. Had to use my phone this time around.}

Here's the first combo made...

---#1 Set---

The pic above shows the earrings I made (by now you probably know that I gravitate towards earrings) using the vintage red beads from the cup of bead soup. The small swarovski pearl beads in black and gold are set on each side along with a crystal rondelle from my collection.

The pic below shows another red bead from the cup of soup...

'Red Hot' necklace

'Red Hot' combo
My take on a tassel necklace.
On display!

This necklace looks even better in person against black clothing! I love the long length of it and the small red vintage bead is still the star of the show (in my opinion). I am tending towards simple with just a touch of bling with the rhinestone chain and the crystal rondelle. Black & brass chain and a black/gold bead, all from my stash finish off this design.

I hope you enjoyed this first set of jewelry...it was fun wearing it around the house trying it on for size! ;)

                                                                         ---#2 Set---

What a retro vibe! When I saw the 2 same sized light blue beads from the cup of bead soup, I knew I had to make earrings. (No surprise there right?!) But, then the 2 goldish knot beads caught my eye and I knew I had to pair them together. Very 80's!

'Retro' earrings

 Another long necklace.

 Matching large blue bead makes a statement!

 On display!

Another long necklace was created using the matching large blue bead from the cup of bead soup. Then, I saw the antiqued gold rose bead and everything flowed from there! The dark round bead with gold etching was perfect for this style necklace. I can drop the blue pendant bead straight through the round bead and adjust this necklace as needed. Chain from my collection, with matching blue beads rounded out this design.

I also modeled this necklace around the house and really loved how it looked against black. I'm sure it would look great against white too! Don't know yet if I can part with this one. ;)

Thank you Lori for hosting this fun little cup of bead soup! And a big thank you to Bead Happily Ever After for the beautiful vintage beads you provided for us to play with and create!

Published designs in Stringing {Summer}

Have you seen the Summer edition of Jewelry Stringing? It is jam packed with lots of inspiration to carry you through the summer months happily creating your own jewelry. I am honored to have 2 earring designs in this issue!

#4...As shown on page 58.
I had the best time creating these {above} earrings! I created my own faux patina on the top rose beads. (You can find these beads at my etsy shop.) Orange and Turquoise is always a pretty summer combination. I can picture these earrings paired with a white sun dress!

#2...As shown on page 58.
The earrings above are called 'Calm Seas.' The were inspired by the beach and the serenity of just being close to nature. I like to use vintage beads in my designs. I typically use uncirculated vintage beads in my designs and love mixing old and new elements together!  To find out which beads are vintage, and not as hard to find as you may think, pick up a copy of the summer issue of Stringing on newstands now.

Photos and beads

Photobucket
{'Paint the Town Red' earrings}

Recently, I was playing around with my photo {above} of my 'paint the town red' earrings. I really like the way the pic turned out. If you are a reader of my blog you will recognize that these earrings were recently published in the Jan. '12 issue of Bead Trends magazine.

These earrings are so easy to make! Just pick up the issue of Bead Trends for step by step instructions. If you have any questions or need any beading help just let me know. :)

Rose bead resource:
{vintage brass rose beads}
found at: Vintage Baubles

You can add a small 4mm Swarovski crystal bead in the center of these beads like I did! Then a pretty teardrop bead of your choice will finish off this look.

So excited! Thank you Stringing {my heart earrings are shown on pg 2}!

Many moons ago when my boys where just babies, Stringing magazine was the very first magazine that I found to 'teach' me how to create jewelry. I'm very honored to be included in this issue of their magazine! When I received my issue yesterday in the mail, my boys (who are now teenagers) where the first ones to see my work published. :) -Roxanne Str Winter11 Toc
