Jewelry Stringing Winter 2014

"Fancy" earrings
These are the earrings shown in the most recent Jewelry Stringing
I love how they sparkle and how they look on! Simply Fancy!

The cover is gorgeous.
I received my copy yesterday but need to sit down with it for awhile. Get inspired this holiday season and dazzle your family & friends with some handmade gifts this year.

PS...I will have a limited amount of these earrings available! The main focal bead is a vintage find. Let me know if Santa needs a little help filling those stockings!

My earring project in 101BNE 2013

 photo IMG_2067_zpsb3080a31.jpg

These earrings can be seen in 101 Bracelets, Necklaces and Earrings 2013!

They are called 'Vintage Garden' (page 71).

These earrings are very special to me because they were created in memory of my grandmother. I have many memories being with her in her yard tending to her flowers. I know she would be proud of me if she were still here on earth. My Grandma Champion will always be an inspiration to me. :)

I'm honored to be included in this once a year issue...

Check out the beautiful necklace on the cover!
Erin of Tesori Trovati designed the necklace and even created the bird pendant!
Visit Erin's etsy shop to create your own bird inspired necklace.

Have a great rest of the summer and enjoy creating!

Bead Hoarders Blog Hop 2013

 photo 7b365100-bb77-42d4-8060-50b8637f1724_zps3865711e.jpg

Here's what I narrowed it down to! I wanted to focus on my most favorite beads I haven't been able to part with...until now...Thanks Lori for the push and hosting this hop.

Step 1: Daring myself to part with my favorite and most expensive bead I own. ;)
The heart bead shown below was purchased for a good cause last year at
http://www.bellabeadjewelrybylinda.blogspot.com/.

 photo 664fa960-d6ef-4338-a2b9-bb521af97a3d_zpsab77abe6.jpg

When I was preparing to take the pic above I hit the heart bead on the wooden chest...and just about freaked out figuring I had broke it! It survived!

 photo 9f54aa2e-9e62-4f6f-b61c-4ca4e62956a8_zps2a6c6854.jpg
Isn't it she pretty?

Now be kind, ;)
I would rather be creating earrings but I wanted a challenge and I wanted to use the heart bead. I also wanted to somehow tie in the grey toned vintage beads I've had for years.

 photo e1dfe488-5a49-45b7-b14b-ff9c0f4c5e70_zps313e7d4c.jpg
Different shades of purples, greys, and green.
I've had those purple beads for years too...I won't say how long!

Another shot before the Cali sun set.

I really love how it turned out! The design flowed so well and I was done in 2 hours. For me that's an accomplishment...since I dread creating necklaces.

Step 2: Create another necklace!

What do you think?

 photo b5df06b9-e4fd-407f-84dc-e9ae64ad3d95_zpsa7ec3149.jpg

Now, this girl was stubborn. It took me 3 nights of tweaking until it was just right. You would think the simple design would have meant for a smooth and easy process...but infact it was just the opposite. I struggled with the black flower and the wooden girl pendant staying put. Finally, on the 3rd night everything came together just in the nick of time!

The black chain is vintage. The wooden girl pendant I won in a giveaway (many years ago) from Amber Dawn @ http://internationalcharmday.blogspot.com/.

I'm glad to go through this process and let these beads have their day in the sun! Even if I do decide to part with them permanently. ;)

I hope you enjoyed your visit and continue to hop around and see what everyone else created.

The Suzi Necklace

The "Suzi" Necklace

This necklace was created using a vintage French stamp from my collection. I started collecting them about 10 years ago. It's about time I started using them!

Darice Frame Charms {After Adding My Stamps}

These Darice Charms were quick & easy to personalize with my stamps. The hardest part was deciding which stamps to use! I chose one in brown and the other in black. I think they look perfect in these frames.

The "Suzi" Necklace in brown tones.

The finished necklace has a vintage rhinestone bead cap that I used to make one of my 'honey flowers,' a wire wrapped crystal bicone, a czech bead, and a rhinestone rondelle.

Perfect for the 4th of July {earrings}

I created these earrings a while back. And have been waiting till it got closer to July to post about them. As usual, things got busy and I almost forgot about these cuties.

UPDATE: Sold!
Re-posting for 4th of July earring inspiration!
"Freedom"
...featuring Vintaj (brand) birds & vintage red/white/blue beads

"Freedom" earrings

These earrings where challenging to make! I almost gave up several times but they ended up just like I envisioned them. I haven't decided if I will make another pair to keep...I do have enough to make one more pair, so we will see!
