As seen in Jewelry Stringing {Fall 2012}

"Honey Flower"

Vintaj earwires, Arte Bella Surplus honey opal beads (etsy), Yummy Treasures rhinestone bead caps (etsy).
 I used the rhinestone bead caps as the 'flower' part of this design. I had no idea I was going to make this design...until I started playing with the beads. Love it when that happens!

"Amber Waves"

Vintaj earwire, Blue Marble Beads vintage amber oval swirls (etsy), MK Supplies fruit salad rounds (etsy).
This design was planned, unlike the first pair of earrings. I sketched out my design and luckily it turned out exactly like I had envisioned. I love how the row of beads follows the twists in the amber beads!

If you haven't had a chance yet, pick up the Fall issue of Stringing. It is jam packed with inspiring Fall designs! And, if you are interested in my desings they are located in the Earring Section. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Thank you Stringing!

Hi Roxanne, I'm a big fan of Stringing mag and have enjoyed your designs... Could you maybe explain what you mean by "rhinestone beadcaps"? The sept 2012 issue does not due these earrings justice!
It appears you have a rondelle at the bottom and then 3 r stone caps, but how attached? Also do you have any idea if one can purchase the aug 2014 bead it today? ( I believe it was there last issue before going out of business) thank you and happy beading! Rachel

Hi Rachel and thanks for your comment! The rhinestone bead cap was purchased from Yummy Treasures on etsy. I don't know if its still available in that shop but will look into it for you. The bead cap is one piece with 3 rhinestone parts and a hole in the center. Hopefully I'm not confusing you with my description. ;)

Basically, I used the rhinestone bead cap in a different way. If you string a small bead and then the bead cap the next step is to bend the head pin upwards. Then string another small bead and do a simple small wire wrap.

Those earrings are so fun to make! I hope you give it a try!

Also, I'm not sure about out of print mags but I would probably try a search online. If I see any for sale I will let you know!

Take care,
Roxanne
